Get out, get close up and personal. Have fun. Hopefully the weather is better but there are numerous topics even in or because of the snow.
Due date for uploading the March assignment will be March 25th. Voting will be March 26th to 31
Our general meetings are held on the first Wednesday of the month in the West Hall of the Qualicum beach Civic Centre from 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm. We normally conduct the club’s business, then review the slideshows from the previous month’s assignment, field trip and favourite shot of the month. The last half of the meeting is dedicated to having a speaker come and make a presentation or discuss some aspects of their photography
The Monthly Management Meeting is normally held on the second Thursday of the month in the boardroom of Qualicum Foods. If any members are interested in attending, please contact the club president.
Morrell Nature Sanctuary
Morrell Nature Sanctuary is a privately owned nature reserve. It is leased and managed by the Morrell Sanctuary Society for Environmental Education, a non-profit organization managed by volunteers who maintain the park and organize many programs for school children and the public.

Get to Know Your Camera
If you are well-versed in your model of camera, please consider volunteering to help on March 21st for the Education meeting. Vivian will be moderating an evening of learning about your cameras and will NEED to have people to help beginners or others just wanting information about the operation of their camera model.

Have fun finding people, objects, animals, birds, boats or whatever else that shows action.
When you go to enter your images, you will see a change in the naming of one of the categories. We have replaced the word “Digital” with “Creative” and feel that this will be less confusing.

Our speaker this month is Ron Brandner a member of the Port Alberni photo club. The purpose of his talk is to discuss how the hobby of photography has enhanced both his physical and mental health. As a senior, health issues are becoming more and more prevalent and he is finding photography is becoming more of a medication than a hobby.
He has been making images for over 60 years and over that period has garnered a lot of useful information from a great number of sources that have helped him adjust his practice of photography to suit his changing needs.
He is grateful to those who have shared their wisdom with him and has compiled a list of the more important ideas. Hopefully there will be some that will be of benefit to Oceanside photographers.
We will be showing our slideshows from last month’s assignment, the favourites and the field trip.
