October Field Trip – Big Qualicum Fish Hatchery
Oct 13 @ 11:00 am – 1:00 pm

We will head to the Big Qualicum Fish Hatchery to take in the annual salmon run.  Most of the hatchery will be accessible for a self guided tour, taking in the various facilities where young salmon are bred and released.  In addition, there are a number of walking paths around the river and spawning channels that should be spectacular in their fall colours.  Fishing is allowed on the river above the hatchery so there is also an opportunity to catch fishers catching fish. We will meet in the hatchery parking lot at 11:00 am and follow that up with a lunch at Micky J’s at the Arrowsmith Golf Club.
