What we have going on…
There are four categories in this competition:
01 – Botanical – subjects such as wild-flowers, plants, trees, fungi and algae. Germinated and grown without human assistance.
02 – Nature – animals, birds, insects, reptiles and marine subjects – under the control and feeding of humans if not obvious – such as zoos, game farms, animal preserves, aquarium, etc…
03 – Landscape – subjects such as weather phenomena, geological formations, landscapes, seascapes and natural phenomena, planets, stars and astronomical events – no hand of man.
04 – Wildlife – ONLY living and untamed mammals, birds, insects, reptiles and marine subjects – no hand of man.
You may vote for up to 6 images in each of the categories including your own image
The selection of the top 6 images has been explained by the President
Our speaker this month will be Rick Leche on the topic of ‘MidJourney Digital AI and our photos‘.
An avid photographer living in Black Creek (on Beautiful Vancouver Island), British Columbia.

Our general meetings are held on the first Wednesday of the month in the West Hall of the Qualicum beach Civic Centre from 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm. We normally conduct the club’s business, then review the slideshows from the previous month’s assignment, field trip and favourite shot of the month. The last half of the meeting is dedicated to having a speaker come and make a presentation or discuss some aspects of their photography
Our speakers this month will be Clay and Gill Ross on the topic of ‘Travels in India‘.
Clay and Gill are two of our own members and you will have seen many of their photographs in our monthly slideshows.

Stan Novotny is a talented photographer, videographer, and workshop leader who has made a significant impact in the field of visual storytelling.

For March we are putting together a series of short 10-to-15-minute member discussions.
Ricke Horte, Jack Harynuk and Bob Christopher will each present.

The meeting will consist of slide shows of the Favourites and Field Trips prepared by Jack Harynuk and the assignments prepared by John Potter. Thank you to both for your efforts in preparing these for our members viewing pleasure. John will also conduct the voting on the assignments.
John Kinos will give a presentation on the website and how we will be able to utilize it.
Rick Horte will give a presentation about making a slide show so if you have not done yours yet or have done one and it still needs a bit of tweaking, there will be information that will assist you. This is our yearly AGM and we will hold elections for all the management positions.
As well as showing our monthly assignment, favourites, and field trip videos we will show our member slideshows. It will be a fantastic night of entertainment!
