What we have going on…
Our general meetings are held on the first Wednesday of the month in the West Hall of the Qualicum beach Civic Centre from 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm. We normally conduct the club’s business, then review the slideshows from the previous month’s assignment, field trip and favourite shot of the month. The last half of the meeting is dedicated to having a speaker come and make a presentation or discuss some aspects of their photography
Here’s a wonderful opportunity to participate in a walk or hike while photographing great vistas. Your choice of seascapes, forests or beaches. There may be some opportunities to do a little street photography. Either way we certain you’ll enjoy yourself.
Traditionally, the club has organized a group lunch after the Field Trip. During the pandemic most cafes and restaurants are reluctant to accept a large group, HOWEVER, there’s nothing to prevent you and your friends from going to lunch in a small group. Keep in mind new members and introduce yourselves. who knows you may make a new friend.
Submission deadline for your images is August 31.

This month’s meeting is cancelled due to the outbreak
Our speaker this month is Nanaimo photographer, Gordon Howe. Gordon has spoken to our members previously and we were very impressed with his photography expertise.
This presentation is a travelogue of an area mostly untapped by British Columbian tourists, the Northwest. It is an area rich in indigenous culture, history, spectacular mountains and some of Canada’s great rivers such as the Skeena, Nass and the Bulkley.
In addition to photos Gordon will share tips on how to capture this rich indigenous culture in an appropriate and sensitive manner. Learn how to photograph totem poles within their environment for better impact.
The Northwest wildlife, scenery and culture is spectacular in any season as this multi-season presentation will demonstrate
We will be showing our previous months field trip, assignment and favourites slideshows.
