What we have going on…
We will head to the Big Qualicum Fish Hatchery to take in the annual salmon run. Most of the hatchery will be accessible for a self guided tour, taking in the various facilities where young salmon are bred and released. In addition, there are a number of walking paths around the river and spawning channels that should be spectacular in their fall colours. Fishing is allowed on the river above the hatchery so there is also an opportunity to catch fishers catching fish. We will meet in the hatchery parking lot at 11:00 am and follow that up with a lunch at Micky J’s at the Arrowsmith Golf Club.
Come and soak up the activities and ambience around the Goats-not-yet-on-the-Roof on Hwy 4 in beautiful downtown Coombs.

We can partake of refreshments either in the market or down the road a short way at the Creekmore Coffee Roastery.
This month the field trip will be a little later in the month than usual. This is to accommodate a special occasion at Milner Gardens. Once a year during the summer solstice the Milner Fairy Houses become visible to the human eye. Come explore the gardens and witness the whimsical phenomenon for yourself! If you are unable to meet with us on Thursday, the Fairy Houses are only visible until Sunday, June 23rd. Don’t miss them.
Adult admission is $14.
