Shelley and Jack are sharing an exhibition at the MAC during August.

Shared Vision sums up the love we share for photography.  We go somewhere to take photos and discover that we see the same things in completely different ways.  We hope that this exhibition will show you some of the beauty we have found on our travels.

There is an opening reception on August 8th from 1:00 to 3:00

Due to the expected strike of the QB Town staff, this meeting has been canceled.

Our speaker for this meeting is Brian Argyle.  Brian is a snowbird who spends his winters in Arizona wandering the desert and taking great photos.  He has recently started offering a photography course at TOSH.  For our meeting, Brian will talk about how he goes about setting up shots for HDR, Panoramas and also Blending and Layer Masking.  Click on the photo to see some of Brian’s earlier work.

We will also hear from Brad, our VP, about the upcoming CAPA course which we are sponsoring and our February 6th event speaker, Rick Hulbert.

There will be three slideshows – the field trip to the QB air show, our July favourites and the Landscape / Panorama assignment from June.

Our general meetings are held on the first Wednesday of the month from 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm. We normally conduct the club’s business, then review the slideshows from the previous month’s assignment, field trip and favourite shot of the month. The last half of the meeting is dedicated to having a speaker come and make a presentation or discuss some aspects of their photography

Our field trip for August has been changed to the Hamilton Hobby Farm (aka Coombs Petting Z00).  They have bunnies, chicks, hay rides and great photo chances.

We generally meet at the venue at 10am and shoot until 12 then those who wish to do so gather at the chosen lunch venue.  Check the details for the field trip outing.

Meet with other members and try a range of different shots. Test some new post processing techniques. Pick about 6 of the most interesting and size them to within 1600 pixels wide and 1200 pixels high. When you have your field trip photos ready, send them to fieldtrip.opc@gmail.com
