Grizzly
We start the year with a presentation by the Grizzly gang, Paul, Jim, Gary and Jack who went on a tour into Bute Inlet.
Slideshows from our Barns and Benches assignment and Qualicum in December field trip will end the evening.
Our general meetings are held on the first Wednesday of the month from 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm. We normally conduct the club’s business, then review the slideshows from the previous month’s assignment, field trip and favourite shot of the month. The last half of the meeting is dedicated to having a speaker come and make a presentation or discuss some aspects of their photography

This is a reminder to vote for the current assignment. Voting usually starts on the 21st of the month and continues until the 28th of the month. Vote in the member database and check the dates for the specific assignment.
The opening reception for the ‘Day in the Life of Qualicum Beach’ exhibition will be held Wednesday Jan 30th at 7:00pm.
Images from many of our members who participated in the one day street photography event last summer will be part of exhibition

Emperor Penguins
Our meeting will feature Wally Chinn and his trip to the Antarctic. He will talk about experiencing and photographing in Antarctica.
The results of the musical instruments will be presented along with a slideshow of old town Nanaimo
This month we’re heading up to Mt. Washington. Take your skis, cameras, snow tires! Have fun in the snow and hope for a sunny day with blue skies. Getting to the ski area on a busy Sunday will be challenging. It’s best to carpool and go with someone who has the right vehicle for that road and has done it before. Also, if the weather for another day looks more promising, that might be worthwhile considering.
It will be crowded so find a lunch spot in a cafeteria or meet down in Courtenay, there are tons of great spots.
