The Raptors offers a compelling interactive experience with amazing birds of prey. Get closer than you ever imagined to these exciting, intelligent birds and learn about their world and how we all benefit when they survive and thrive. This will an opportunity to see and photograph some of those birds you have never seen or have never been able to get close enough for that one good photo.
There may be some carpooling available.
Lunch will be at the Shipyard Restaurant and Pub about 8 minutes from the Raptor Centre

Cabela’s is a sporting goods store that has lots for everyone. You will see taxidermied animals (I asked and none were killed just for the display), sporting good items of all shapes and sizes, Christmas displays and you may even see Santa Claus. The only request they have is that you don’t take photos of the employees or prices of items.

We are trying to make our outings available to more people so we will be trying some Saturdays and some Sundays with either morning or afternoon times. If you have any suggestions about days and times please let me know in person or in an email.
Join for a great time at the Errington fire Hall. There will be lots of opportunities to take photos of the trucks and the safety equipment that make it up as well as other things in the fire hall. You may even get to take a photo of a fireman or two – with permission.

This field trip will have several opportunities for some great photography with many areas open to the public and with so many areas none of them are crowded which makes it nice for us.
Our event will be going from 10:30 – noon but for your information I have listed the days complete agenda below
Heritage Faire will be running from 10 am to 4 pm at the Cumberland Recreation Centre.
Cumberland’s Heritage Faire was originally launched by a group of community volunteers in 2003 and was modeled on the folk festival that ran from 1949 to 1958 celebrating the diverse heritage of Cumberlanders. Each year over 50 families, clubs and other organizations set up displays of antique tools, unique collections, photos and demonstrations of crafts and folklore from the early days of Cumberland and the Comox Valley.
Heritage Day at the Museum is open by donation if you would like to go in and take photos there
Lantern Festival and Parade
Indoor Labyrinth at the Cultural Centre from 10 am to 4 pm.
At 6pm join the Lantern Parade from Village Square at Third Street to Village Park
Entertainment and sky lanterns at Village Park after the parade, weather permitting.

This is an introductory wildlife workshop. Steve is looking forward to meeting everyone and helping to improve your photography along the way, whilst hopefully learning one or two things himself!
Please feel free to bring any other food or refreshments with you if you wish. The schedule is tight. There will be a lunch break, however, no lunch is provided.

Spring at Tiger Lily Farm is such an exciting time with the birth of lambs, calves, pigs, and sheep providing us with fantastic photo opportunities.
Not into the animals?? There are many other things for you to see and photograph from inside the store, the old and new farm machinery and tools plus so much more
This is a field trip that will have something for everyone.
As a special for the photo society they are not going to charge us but ask if there are any photos you that you really like the way they turn out if you could share them with them for their website and Facebook page. They will give you full credit for your work. You can make a donation if you would like but it is not compulsory.

We have been couped up with all the rain and now it is time to get some outdoor time. Spider lake is a beautiful lake with a sandy beach and will be perfect for some great opportunities for landscape shots.
Directions from Horne Lake road on the upper highway then head northeast on Horne Lake Rd toward Thorpe Rd S go 650 m
Turn right onto Spider Lake Rd go 3.1 km; Turn right in 600 m; Continue onto Lakeview Rd for700 m; turn right -Destination will be on the left
Lunch will be at the Sandbar Café at noon and is located on the old island highway in Qualicum Bay
At the lights for the upper highway continue going straight to the old island highway, turn left and the destination is on the right
